Sonny and Cher Duet Evaluation

Yesterday, David and I had to do our first music video which was quite straightforward keeping in mind that our only production experience was with thriller openings. We kept to a simple strategy of a few short clips entailing all the different shots we needed, the close up of me, the close up of David and one mid shot of me and David together. When we looked back on our footage we found that the content was minimal so we filmed some extra clips of the two of us dancing and messing around so we could keep the audience entertained, we also added other shots like high shots, wide and low shots so we could show off our skill too.

My Production Team

 My name is Nadine and I am working in a group with Tayo. As Beyonce is my favourite singer I would say my taste in music is RnB/Pop, I really enjoy mainstream music. My strength is definitely editing as I progressed this skill a lot in year 12 so I think when it comes to the music video I would be really good at match on action shots etc

This is Tayo who is the person I'm working with and I also worked with her last year. Her taste in music is similar to mine as she likes RnB/ Pop. She is really good at directing as she can piece things in her head and has a strong vision of what she wants her work to look like.

The Brief

This year the brief I have been given is:

To produce:

¡  A music ‘promo’ video

¡  Up to 5 minutes

¡  Either working on your own or in a group of up to four members

I also need to produce:

¡  A ‘digipak’ (Six panels) for its release on CD

¡  A magazine advertisement for the digipak

 In addition to my ‘promo’ video I will have to produce:

¡  A critical evaluation

I am  going  to be making a promotional package for a new artist/band - including a music video I am going to chart my progress as I research, plan and evaluate my A2 portfolio.
